I have 15 years experience of working in conservation for Natural Resources Wales and its predecessor Countryside Council for Wales. Currently working within the National Peatland Action Programme for Wales where I am involved with identifying sites for restoration, undertaking site investigation, designing and overseeing restoration activities.My experience covers a broad array of habitats, species and ecological niches typically (but not exclusively) focussed around the protected/designated sites series (SSSI's, SAC's etc.). I have a good working knowledge of Phase II survey and NVC communities. I am most experienced with peatland, grassland, saltmarsh and woodland NVC communities but have had experience of sand dunes, open water and heathland NVC communities.I am also experienced in designing and undertaking common standards monitoring aimed at assessing the condition of NVC communities of conservation significance.Extensive knowledge of designing and coordinating contracts for conservation management and ecological survey and research.Competent with ArcGIS packages both desktop based and in the field.Prior to working for NRW/CCW I had worked as a Native Species Officer at Bristol Zoo Gardens and undertaken internships with the Peoples Trust for Endangered Species and with Project LEMUR based out of the Wye Valley AONB.
