CurrentRob is a chartered engineer with a wide range of experience in retail, education and residential sectors:His involvement with major retailers include Selfridges, Dixons Stores Group, Starbucks and TK Maxx store developments. In these roles the work has ranged from assistance with minor structural works associated with shop fit through to complicated cut and carve projects.Rob's experience in the education sector includes responsiblity for the desing of new facilities for Cranleigh School, Caterham School and Prior's Field School ranging from approximately £350k throgh to £9m and employing a variety of materials and forms of construction, including timber, load bearing masonry, concrete and steel frame.In the residential sector, Cheval Place was a unique project requiring the construction of a single residence on a brown field site in the heart of Knightsbridge. It was necessary to construct a two storey basement as clost to the site boundary as possible and below water table. The solution combined jet grouting, piled and mass concrete foundations along with complicated sequencing and temporary works. Approximately 100 party wall notices were required and as part of the agreements, a system of automated monitoring was developed to measure movement of the adjacent properties and the retained facades. The completeded residence was valued in 2007 around £40m.
