This causes problems for traditional asset funders to fund as the difference between the price paid & the value as a used plant from day one can be massive . Traditional asset funders will then try to bridge this gap by taking very big deposits , personal guarantees of shareholders & directors , charges ,liens & debentures over other assets of the business & income streams which sometimes is just not possible. Asset funders can also struggle with part payments & deposits to suppliers or want repayment programs that start as soon as the plant is purchased not when the project starts earning & can create cash flow difficulties .The above are the reasons I have seen many highly profitable projects not get off the ground !
