2019 saw me move back to a fully technical role and as Head of Architecture working on the strategic architecture direction for Inspiretec across all plaforms to provide a holistic solution utilising a number of technologies including .NET and Java, Cloudflare; with technolgies being reviewed based on the requirements. With Eysys merger into Inspiretec, picking up development manager duties looking after the development team within the Holistic, Highway and Harmony product suite whilst still helping maintain the Architect function across the business.We build and deliver some cool Java products built on top of MongoDB and Elasticsearch.

Architect role working in both .NET and Java systems. .NET using SQL Server and Java using MySQL and Cassandra in a Service Orientated Architecture.- Took Comtec live with Cassandra.- Designed, developed and managed Comtecs Flight Cache project into Production- Designed new Payment Service to aid Comtec on the road to PCI DSS complianceNormal day to day responsibilities include- Designing the system architecture and the code architecture.- Working with clients from IT Director and Architect to Development levels and writing presentations and reports for the different recipients.- Performance analysis and changes to drive efficiency in the software.- Technical escalation for the software engineers and complex issues- Help maintain software quality by driving the use of TDD, code reviews and solution reviews.- Helped Comtec move into Test Driven Development with the use of Moq and XUnit- Migration of source code repositories from Subversion to Kiln and devising branching strategies.- Creation of Hudson and Jenkins builds and deployments of both .NET and Java - Liaise with other architects within the team to design software functionally rich and to interface easily with other systems within the Comtec stack.- Load testing and performance testing of the Comtec stack using mock services to create a ring-fenced environment.NET (inc WCF, WebAPI), Java (inc Spring, Maven, Ant), SQL Server, MySQL, Cassandra

Managing a small team of developers and testers integrating into 3rd party systems in the travel industry.

- Lead developer of one of the main TCP/IP message based engines in the company written in VB6 together with the database backend controlling configuration updates and billing records and the configuration management application.- Developer of a backwards compatible protocol interface to allow multiple protocol interfaces onto one TCP/IP based messaging interface.- Developer of a .NET web service providing multiple HTTP interfaces, XML and comma-delimited, onto the same search interface.- Development of generic and application specific load testing software to allow the software developed to be tested to its extremes.Proof of Concept work exploring new product functionality- Building Intel based server hardware and installing operating systems for live environment.- Live server software upgrades and maintenance.- Providing technical support to Senior Management, Sales and Project Managers both in the UK and abroad.Languages Utilised: .NET (C# and VB), VB6, MSSQL (2000 and 2005)
