This includes BI tools to ensure the changed processes deliver real measurable benefits to the business.

Moved into a global role with direct working relation shipment with regional GM's. Focus on global operational productivity working with a global operations team. Uniformity being a key element in the One Mainfreight mentality. Pin pointing pain points within the business, highly repetitive tasks that may be eased with operational or IT solutions. Manage a team of developers to build internal solutions for operational gain as well as EDI integrations with customers and point of difference reporting through analytics and customised reporting. Work on timelines to get major projects completed and implemented.During the timeframe of the role had lead project role from the business for the move from an internally hosted environment to being hosted on an external platform and integrating 3 separate systems into a single global platform. Mainfreight's growth during this period included a number of new Air & Ocean offices starting up and linking in with the global system. This involved working with the global team to ensure training & system set ups met with the global standards and processes. Also led the global team in designing workflows that included agreed milestones that were and still are used for exception management, automated alerts and web based tracking.

Was offered the role of Branch Manager and accepted. Approx 80 staff over 2 locations with 80 million in sales and around 4 million profit per annum. Sales team of 8 reps and associated support. Was responsible for all aspects of the branch including sales and debtor control and general branch expenses. Purchased Halford Youngs in 2006. Team members went to 146 over 3 sites. Managed the integration of the Halfords Staff across to the Mainfreight sites and Mainfreight Computer system over a 3 month period. Sales grew by 60% with the acquisition. In the era of the GFC profits still managed to reach 5.7 million even with related additional costs.

The role of National Operations was created to build uniformity within our internal offices. During this time we centralised import sea operations to be ran out of Melbourne, eliminated 95% of inter office billing, introduced 100% scanning of all documents. Was given the role of project lead for the operational component of the implementation of the EDI enterprise software product across all Australian offices. With the success of that project was also given the role of overseeing the implementation of EDI Enterprise in the NZ operations as well as Asia as they migrated to the global platform.

Had a small team that reported to me with special emphasis on using software as a way of building productive operational processes. Key measurements of jobs per person & margin percentages increased during this time.
