Supported, maintained, and implemented upgrades to more than 15 Oracle databases on various UNIX platforms. The production databases supported Oracle Financials, customer management, and office automation systems for an international office products manufacturer and distributor. Responsible for performance tuning and logical/physical database designs. Upgraded databases from Oracle version 6.0 to 7.1.6 and designed and created more than ten test and production databases. Created PL/SQL scripts to monitor and archive database performance, gather growth statistics, tune, recreate objects, defragment, and proactively report potential problem areas. Routinely performed database reorganizations and three production recoveries after hardware failures.
