For the first 10 years of my career I was solely responsible for the day to day maintenance and all functions of the JFK and Thomas J. Hatem bridge toll facilities located on I-95 and route 40 in Cecil county Maryland. My first month began with the installation of the current generation of toll equipment and I continued on as the only maintenance tech on site from 2007 to 2017. In my time there my equipment has generated nearly $200,000,000 in revenue for the state of Maryland (public record). In addition to my main locations I also assisted in maintaining the other toll plazas in Maryland, and occasionally Pennsylvania and Delaware. My equipment includes Ethernet controlled cameras, laser detection units, magnetic detection loops, automatic entry gates and industrial lane controllers that run on Linux. For 10 years I have maintained an accuracy rate exceeding 99.8%. Since 2017 I have been maintaining the toll plazas for the Delaware Memorial bridge on 295 which connects Delaware and New Jersey. In this instance again I was involved in the installation of the current tolling equipment and have remained on as the sole maintenance technician. My equipment has remained mostly identical to the Maryland tolling equipment however this system is 10 years newer.
