I’ve been a user/customer/design researcher since 1999. I’ve obtained diverse experiences covering personal-finance consumer software, consumer hardware, communications software, audio and video communications and technical software. I currently work on internal tools at Cruise, improving the development experience so we can efficiently scale the business. Throughout my career I’ve focused on providing meaningful and actionable data to drive design and business decisions. “Interesting” data is not always actionable data and I guide teams to make sure they are asking the right questions and getting the right data. Prior to working in the software industry I taught research methods and statistics at the University of Washington giving me a big “tool chest” of research methods.
