Working in BT Enterprise now as a Technical Delivery Professional

My Responsibilities are looking after the team i am a member of, organizing team roles and rotation of responsibilities. Identifying and imparting Knowledge Transfer to others and acting as a SPOC for the team issues. Also acting as an interface between the Customer Project Managers and the team, highlighting any risks, challenges and achievements to and from the project area i am responsible for.

I am now working as a Senior Transmission Configuration Engineer within the Transmission Configuration and Planning teams, incorporating my experiences from a highly successful time as a RAN engineer within the NOC. This included gaining experience as a Shift Leader (for up to 15 engineers) I am meticulous in my written, verbal and electronic reports of any issues affecting the network and my team. I continue to achieve a high level of performance in any role, and going the extra mile to achieve my objectives.

Have now moved onto the RAN Configuration department to further enhance my career.And have gained experience in configuring and mapping SIAE, NEC iPaso 400 and ETL TN Mini link ports for the H3G and EE LTE projects in the last 9 months. Have also increased my learning of IP networking

Configuring ports and fault-finding on SIAE and ETL radios for both EE and H3G LTE projects

Supervision of NOC Engineering team (up to 15 engineers). Identification and co-ordination of key skills within the team. Taking ownership of high level and high impacting network issues and through correct delegation resolving these issues within SLA's. Maintenance and resolution of the 2G/3G network in the UK, working as part of a team in a shift system. Working on Nortel, Nokia and Ericsson equipment. Working on all processes and tools that is required including: Netcool, Atlas (Remedy), Netact (Nokia 3G), Oracle (SPECTRUM related databases: Circuit Manager and Nemesis) and management platforms for Nortel (SUN servers and CLIManager for the Passport and MSS equipment) and Ericsson (AXE10 and 810 BSC's

Monitoring the various networks for issues and failures and resolving the same within specific timeframes

Worked as an Event Controller for a Reparenting programme, and taken on theproject management when the Project Manager left to work on another project.Updating the design teams with Red-Line issues, escalating in-depth reports to the higher support teams and passing on information to the other installation teams.Reporting to all teams has also been an integral part of the Account and Project team methodologies, on all projects.Responsible for the installation and upgrade of Dark Fibre equipment.I&C of BSS networks for various Mobile operators including GSM-R technology.Supervised other network management engineers, responsible for their on the job training as well as formulating and enabling more formal training schedules. Attended a level 1 management course.Worked as network management engineer within the I&C team. Installed, commissioned, maintained and upgraded the network management servers and workstations in UK corporate WAN and LAN environments including SOLARIS and Unix based applications as well as BSS components. Achieved administrator level for the OMC-R platforms.Source for many different teams (customer and internal) for technical expertise, support, and information.

Served as a Royal Marine for 9 years, (this included 9 years as a signaller), in various countries and theatres. Trained as a Telecommunications Technician (4 years in role). During the latter 9 years I have been training off and on as a candidate for promotion to JNCO.

After completing my 4 years apprenticeship and qualified (with a FTC in City and Guilds) to Foreman level, worked as a tradesman for a further two years. Various duties included installation of plant and control systems.
