Working part-time providing flow assurance and process engineering support for an Early Production System for Hurricane Exploration Lancaster oil field, West of Shetlands.

Provided part-time flow assurance and process engineering support.Moved to Devon countryside for a change in lifestyle, maintaining and improving a Victorian rectory and working in the garden amongst other things.

Study manager to provide engineering support and Development plans for Hurricane Exploration prospects in the Greater Lancaster Area, West of Shetlands. Involved in setting up a small engineering team from scratch within Hurricane offices.

I worked on various offshore projects in various roles working part-time whilst our two children were at school. This included lead process engineer for the Oudna oilfield development, providing all conceptual and detailed process engineering design for subsea and topsides facilities upgrades on the Ikdam FPSO. Also completed process engineering conceptual and detailed design for gas export compression trains and an off gas compression package on the Berantai FPSO, offshore Malaysia.

Seconded by Genesis Oil & Gas Consultants to BG to support the Blake Development. Initially responsible for development of the Subsea and Topsides Basis of Design, flow assurance studies and all process conceptual design for the subsea system. Subsequently responsible for all subsea process detailed design, and process interfaces with the Bleo Holm FPSO. Joined Genesis Oil & Gas Consultants, a very small engineering consultancy at that time where I was seconded to Conoco (UK). Initially responsible for conceptual process design of the subsea systems, and coordination of facilities design with the reservoir engineering group to provide the Basis of Design and Development Plan for the Britannia development. Initially responsible for conceptual process design of the subsea systems, and coordination of facilities design with the reservoir engineering group to provide the Basis of Design and Development Plan for the Britannia development. Subsea work included development of a heated system to prevent hydrates in the flowlines with step out of 14 km from the platform. Subsequently responsible for preliminary engineering and detailed design of process systems on the Britannia platform topsides. Continued with onshore commissioning of topsides systems at Teeside fabrication yard and offshore commissioning on a two week rota for a period of one year to complete commissioning of all subsea and topsides systems. This was a great experience to see the project through from feasibility studies to initial operations and be part of the design and commissioning of the heated bundle, a world first for subsea production. Senior Process Engineer responsible for all in-house process conceptual and detail design for subsea flowlines and modification required on the existing Dunlin platform to handle production from the Osprey oil field, and coordination of all engineering disciplines for topsides design in the conceptual phase. Returned to the UK after getting married to work on improvements to existing offshore platforms for Shell Southern North Sea Operations.

An initial one year training scheme was spent in the engineering, inspection, maintenance and operations departments on the Bahrain oil refinery, which covered process plant and equipment design, plant fabrication and materials of construction and plant operation. Subsequently responsible for the design of improvement projects, and to provide engineering assistance during refinery unit shutdowns and normal operations. Great onsite experience working abroad.
