Responsible for developing new process technologies for manufacturing specialty chemicals and chemical intermediates. Work in partnership with product technology, global manufacturing, EHS, and product safety to develop and improve manufacturing processes used to make Momentive's diverse product line. My current areas of focus are Coatings, Silanes, Specialty Fluids, and Key Intermediates.

Responsible for the development for Weatherable Abrasion resistant coatings for plastics. Currently working to developing a thermal cure and UV cure hardcoats systems with "best in class" weathering performance for exterior automotive and architectural applications. Work closely with customers to implement use of coatings in high volume production lines and adapt coating systems to new methods of application and integration with additional technologies that enhance performance. Work with manufacturing to maintain high quality production while managing costs of raw materials, safety, and efficiency of manufacturing processes.

Lead a global team of scientists (USA, Germany, India, Japan) in the development of new technologies for use in weatherable protective coatings for plastics. Created a strategy to address the needs of automotive, transportation, and architectural markets as they look to move from traditional materials (glass) to plastics. Developed and applied a new program management paradigm to maximize the creation and application of knowledge and increase the number of technology options from which new products can be built. Worked with a variety of external partners (OEMs, Customers, Universities, etc...) to leverage expertise and capability to accelerate and expand technology development.

Managed global resources for product development and technology support of Thermal Cure Silicone hardcoat product line. This includes managing work assignments and allocating lab assests to support Platform and New Product Introduction programs as well as mentoring, training, and performance evaluation of a of six direct reports (Ph.D. Scientists and lab technicians) located in Waterford, NY.

Worked closely with customers to implement use of coatings in high volume production lines. Helped to solve a variety of issues related to coating quality, yield, and end use performance. Made observations of customer operations and incorporated that knowledge into new products to simplify the use of Momentive's coatings in the hands of customers.

Lead a variety of projects to develop new silanes, silicone polymers, and polysilsesquioxane resins for use in Silicone sealants, RTVs, and coatings. Took concepts from lab scale development through to full scale commercial production and into customer manufacturing facilities for end use. Impacted product performance, quality, cost, and plant productivity. Utilized Six Sigma, statistical analysis, and advanced DOE in conjunction with first principle relationships in sensible ways to develop robust technical solutions and expand understanding of silicone polymer and polysilsequioxane technology.

Developed a variety of Polyetherimide copolymers for use in high heat engineering thermoplastic applications (automotive, aircraft, food service, medical, military, etc...). Work on manufacturing and customer quality, productivity, product performance issues including; reducing thermomechanical degradation during melt processsing, reducing color, improving UL94 flammability performance. Also, studied imidization reaction kinetics and helped develop an new melt polymerization process for manufacturing polyetherimide oligomers and resins.

Formulate and test new cyannoacrylate adhesives for consumer and intustrial applications.
