The Australian Business Registry Services (ABRS) within the ATO will bring together the Australian Business Register (ABR) and more than 30 ASIC registers in one place. The ABRS is also responsible for the introduction of the director identification number (director ID) initiative and the first service delivered under the Modernising Business Registers (MBR) program.Director ID was made available in public beta through the ABRS website on 1 November 2021. Over 2.7 million directors will need to apply for a director ID.The onboarding of directors within the prescribed legislative timeframes is a key priority toward the successful implementation of this initiative. The Impaired Asset Management team within the Mortgages Collections Unit ANZ Bank manage delinquent accounts (generally greater than 90 days in arrears), which have been forwarded to the Bank’s Solicitors for the purpose of mortgage enforcement. The Impaired Asset Management team are also responsible for asset realisation and unsecured debt recovery. Where applicable the IAM Team are responsible for the management of Lender’s Mortgage Insurer’s claims in the event of shortfall.
