The two primary projects are the implementation of the selected software solution (HASTUS) to replace the current Transit Operating System Software (TOSS) and the implementation of Centralized Dispatch functions. Monitors on-street transit service and coordinate operations to meet established performance standards. Monitors dispatching functions and allocate operators to meet on-street operational requirements and controls, and responds to operator and customer service issues.Supervises and oversees the day to day operation of the transit system. Assesses service needs on a daily basis and deploys operators and buses to meet transit on-street operational requirements. Assigns operators as required to cover identified emergency manpower/vehicle needs. Also manages daily spare board operators and work assignments, requiring strict adherence to collective agreement requirements.Monitors the performance of transit operators to ensure adherence to established operational rules and regulations, including routing, scheduling, and customer relations.Receives and responds to all customer complaints related to on-street transit services. Liaises with the public to investigate such complaints and follows-up as required, including advising operators regarding proper conduct.Responds to customer accidents/injuries and accidents involving transit vehicles. Investigates such accidents. Prepares and submits accident reports in a timely manner and conducts appropriate follow-up with employees as required.Maintains effective communication links with union representatives and employees for area of responsibility, in accordance with the mission and corporate values of the division.Collaborates with appropriate Human Resources staff in the development of Return to Work plans for bus operators, in accordance with Workplace Safety Insurance Board requirements.
