I help retail businesses implement better, more efficient, more intuitive POS software solutions. As a former Retail Manager (District, Sales and Stores), and IT Systems Coordinator, I intimately understand how POS users use POS systems and what makes their lives easier. I consult, scope, design, code, test and implement features and integrations that solve problems and improve systems.I am driven to make a difference within the environments I work, and nothing gives me greater pleasure than to solve problems and make systems easier for people to use. From a technology perspective, I’ve done this as a systems administrator, and help desk operator, and as a software engineer - through GL integrations (MYOB, Xero, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, MSL), Electronic invoice integrations (Purchase Plus, Accounts Flow), Reporting (200+ I’ve written or worked on) and through integrating with a wide variety of Hosts from Metcash-ALM to Independent Brewers Australia to Airport Retail, Independent Grocers of Australia and the Independent Liquor Group. These represent thousands of venues and users who need streamlined assistance at the terminal, with CRM, advertising and promotion, floor mapping, smart billing, inventory management and back office controls.Having worked as a Retail Manager, I understand the value of teamwork, and used my strong interpersonal and communication skills, coaching and influencing skills to get store teams to work well together to exceed store sales and profit budgets, reduce stock to best practice levels and increase their productivity. In my current work as a software engineer, I collaborate across divisions, coach and guide colleagues and clients through project work and can explain difficult technical concepts to aid in understanding and decision making.I have well honed planning and organisation skills and have successfully project managed the development and roll out of new POS systems, upgrades, documentation and training for all staff. I hold a Diploma in Information Technology and have worked in an agile environment for the past 10 years.
