I am a recent graduate from the University of Victoria in the department of History. I would like to apply for a Research and Development position at a game development firm. Because of my schooling I have extensive experience in detailed research, and have developed exemplary analytical skills. It is with these abilities, among many others, that I believe would make me a prized asset to any such company. In this new age of game design it is important to maintain a competitive edge on other video game developers, and I believe offering gamers extensively researched game material to compliment new and original content is essential for this task. For an exceptional result it is essential to have this task completed by a University educated individual who has specific experience in this field. My work, along with others such as junior designers, would be in close support of the lead designers to assist them in their progress. This research could include anything from basic themes (ie. an original game based on Mayan mythology) to specific events (ie. The Battle of Kiev/Kyiv during the Second World War in 1941). While I lack formal training in game design, I do have previous experience in a Research and Development position. I was enlisted by a Vancouver Film School graduate in Game Design twice for help in research for his game projects, and both times he was more than pleased with my results. I am also currently developing a remake of the Goldeneye 64 multi-player level Facility in the Unreal 3 Editor to better familiarize myself with this popular development platform. I have a very fast learning curve, allowing me to master techniques in much shorter times than most, and with this ability, along with an enthusiastic attitude towards learning about game design and development, will be able to quickly overcome my lack of industry experience.Specialties: exemplary research skills, extraordinary problem solving ability
