Rob has had a career in education and training spanning 40 years. He has held positions of Principal and Head Teacher at schools and academies in South Africa, the Ukraine and in the Middle East. He holds qualifications in Education and Educational Management from the University of South Africa (UNISA) and is an accredited Inspector of Schools for British Schools in the Middle East (BSME). In 2014, Rob completed a short course with the University of Cape Town (UCT) in Training & Development. Rob was responsible for management and development of schools in the United Arab Emirates for 10 years. Staff development, mentoring and coaching, institutional improvement and in-service training are his particular areas of expertise. He served as an Inspector of schools in the emirates of Fujairah, Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the UAE from 2010 to 2014. In addition, Rob was a consultant to the Penta Education group (UK) on the Al Shaheen military programme for schools in the UAE. He was appointed as Learning & Development Manager with Stor-Age Self Storage, working out of their head office in Cape Town, South Africa in 2014. Stor-Age Property REIT Ltd listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in November 2015 and Rob has since co-ordinated all company training. He designed and implemented an e-learning capability through a bespoke platform - Edu-Space - to provide online learning to staff across South Africa & the United Kingdom. With the acquisition of Storage King in the UK, this e-learning platform has been used even more extensively to provide industry-specific training content to that market. He facilitates all strategic planning workshops for the Stor-Age Group leadership team and has led multi-day training and development seminars for the group's Regional Managers in Cape Town, Johannesburg (SA), Ruislip, Oxford, Banbury, Silverstone, St Albans & Northampton (UK). Rob's current focus is on management development, which takes participants through a bespoke programme of activities and exercises to further develop current and aspiring team leaders and middle managers.Rob is an enthusiastic sportsman who enjoys road/ trail running and a regular round of golf. He has run more than a hundred marathons, including 12 Comrades ultra-marathons and 22 Two Oceans 56km marathons. He and his wife, Carolynne, still travel extensively and have visited over 50 countries, on 6 continents. They have 2 adult children and 5 grandchildren.
