I work in partnership with apprenticeship systems across Canada, facilitating collaboration among public institutions and developing new trades training and assessment initiatives. I lead and coordinate the activities of a group of technical/professional staff. I'm responsible for a variety of existing and emerging trades and occupations; developing strategies to improve access to apprenticeship training and certification; coordinate the research, development, ongoing evaluation and continual improvement of apprenticeship and industry training. I assist in the development of policy and the legislated framework; as well as coordinate activities related to the development of the national occupational analyses and other Interprovincial Standards (Red Seal) Program initiatives for Alberta's designated trades and occupations.

I developed and maintained provincial industry standards for an assigned group of trades, including associated administration materials, and evaluation instruments. Developed, maintained, and updated national occupational analyses, examinations, item banks, and other standards for interprovincial trades and occupational training programs.I maintained a leadership role in the research, design, development, and designation of emerging trades and occupations, and in the development and implementation of new initiatives for the delivery of apprenticeship and occupational programs. Consulted and collaborated extensively with representatives of industry and training providers throughout these processes.I implemented processes to ensure the ongoing evaluation of trades training programs, evaluation instruments, and training providers located throughout the province. Also played a critical role in liaison and communication exchange with industry, training providers, and other provincial and federal government departments to ensure the maintenance and enhancement of Alberta’s high standard of apprenticeship and related training.
