I am a retired air traffic controller in the Atlanta, Ga area. I'm a single engine rated pilot and have worked closely with several airport managers and FBO's throughout my career. I was a training specialist in the FAA and worked in the Operation Support Group within the Southern Regional Office. My duties at the RO were being on the New York Airspace Redesign team working low level helicopter airspace routes redesigned for the New York and Hudson River Areas. I was the backup for the Georgia District working with airports and dealt with aircraft accident information gathering, helping the airports with construction needs, and assorted pilot training forums. I was a local National Airtraffic Controllers Association (NATCA) President and worked closely with management on developing schedules, working to ensure the collective bargaining agreement was followed and worked as a direct go between controllers and management. I served on the airport advisory board on several airports.
