I teach Acting on the college's Musical Theatre Diploma. My key duties are: • Teaching classical and modern text; absurdist drama; voice; and speech and language.• Teaching contextual studies to all three year groups• Managing and organising modules and teachers on the acting programme • Directing public productions with students at College, including Doctor Faustus, The House of Bernarda Alba, Daisy Pulls it Off and Straight to the Heart • Given the responsibility to redesign the acting syllabus with a greater focus on practical work to greater prepare the students for a career in the performing arts industry. • Running an inclusive assessment process for the acting modules at college which involves practical, written and peer assessment. • Providing cover for the school’s evening youth theatre, for performers age 6-16, where I run creative stand-alone workshops and prepare students for auditions and LAMDA exams in verse and prose

Main duties include• Teaching BTEC students in Acting, Voice and Speech• Guiding new students through presentations for assessment on voice work in theatre• Working with foundation and gap year students on their classical monologues for drama school auditions• Planning and designing challenging and inclusive practical lessons for students aged from 16 - 24

Duties include:• Running teacher training courses for adult learners on the level 3, 4 and 5 professional teaching qualification.• Courses take place in a variety of venues across the UK and ultimately result in learners qualifying to become professional post 16 teachers and lecturers. • The courses involve modules relating to planning, delivery, assessment, evaluation and inclusive practice within education and training. The level 5 course also involves analysis of the psychology and philosophy of teaching and learning.

• Teaching Level 1 BTEC course. The group had a high level of learning and behavioural difficulties. Lessons required meticulous planning to make them as inclusive as possible for the group. • I also chose to run a module inviting learners to write their own pieces to increase their language and literature functional skills.

Career highlights include: • Touring 'Macbeth' in Italy with the Erasmus Theatre Company - using Shakespeare's stories to inspire children who do not speak English. • Performing Shakespeare at many theatres and festivals - including the Greenwich Playhouse, the original Rose Bankside theatre, and on UK tours. This experience culminated in a summer run at Oxford University with the prestigious Oxford Shakespeare Company • Al Smith's 'Radio,' a contemporary one-man show at the Old Joint Stock Theatre in Birmingham • Three community-based productions for the Hertford Theatre. This involved working on pieces which aimed to make acting and theatre accessible to all parts of the community. As well as performing, I mentored community actors as they worked on characters and stage technique for the first time.
