Working with the Production Manager and Operations Director, my function within the business is to ensure the smooth delivery of products from its raw material polymer state to a finish contact lens/ IOL blanks, globally.My roles involves:* Over seeing 3 departments, managing, supporting, training, coaching and mentoring 24 members of staff.* Conducting recruitment interviews, investigation interviews and disciplinary hearings.* Sourcing suppliers and maintaining a healthy supply chain.* Conducting and hosting audits/ auditors.* Developing a lean manufacturing, high performing and continuous improvement culture with the use of KPIs and Kaizen.* Maintain Production and Quality documentation.* Calibration and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.* Developing and implementing SOPs and Quality management procedures. * Capacity Management and Workload Scheduling to meet delivery deadlines.* Working with the R&D team to develop new products and improve current products.

My role within the business includes day to day management of just under 100 production personnel across 3 staffing levels.This includes :* Hands on micro managing the flow of production in an aseptic facility* Coaching for performance development * Facility maintenance* Workload scheduling* Change and documentation management* Innovative ideas* Recruitment/ HR/ disciplinary proceeding * Training/ devising training plans * Capacity management* Fire marshalling* Quality and finance management.Since starting my role in 2006 the department has increased its production numbers by 200% and as a result new 24/7 shift patterns have been implemented to meet the demands of the business.Production techniques, working space and technology have also been improved or changed to reduce expenditure/ waste and improve output.I've implemented a number of new processes, some of which has reduced our an ancillary bill by 40%, increased output by 37% and reduced overtime by 35%.
