This was a non-profit community newspaper, managed by a core team of editors outside of working hours. I was the Managing Editor for the Croydon Citizen throughout and beyond my PhD study, juggling both responsibilities and achieving my goals and quality standards for each. The other founders and I decided to cease publication in September 2018 so that we could move onto new projects. As the Managing Editor my duties included:- Using Atlassian's Jira product to administrate editorial workflow for both site and print publication- Managing proofreaders for the print edition- Managing the internal style guide and ensuring that each piece conforms to the paper's standards- Editing pieces and contributor profiles in WordPress- Occasional contributor

I worked on a one-year fixed-term contract on the Digital Communications team- Administration of web content and user permissions on T4 as a contributor, moderator, and power user- Regular use of html knowledge to fix university web pages- Designing web pages and editing images- Professional interaction with university academics and other administrators, by email and in person- Ensuring that content uploaded by other contributors adheres to the university style guide- Flexibility in work – I took on new responsibilities when needed, such as photographing new students for the ‘student ambassadors’ web page

I have taught two undergraduate units at the University of Bristol: 'Contemporary Writing' from January to May 2015, and 'Critical Issues' from September to December 2017.- Creating the syllabus for each unit that I have taught- Providing clear information on the syllabus on Blackboard- Leading and managing class discussion in seminars- Marking essays at the end of the unit

I initially joined Swapit as a Campaign and Marketing Manager, during which time I created the Swapit blog, which became a key element of many campaigns sold. Swapit was then acquired by SuperAwesome and I was maintained as the Community Manager.- Managing and writing content for the company’s Facebook and Twitter pages, the weekly email newsletter, and the Swapit blog- Overseeing the creation and design of the Swapit blog- Corresponding with clients by email and telephone and meeting in person to manage the delivery of sale campaigns on social media channels- Self-taught html and Photoshop during this period in order to create content for the blog and web pages

I worked for the Mailcom/Admin team for Mothercare UK Plc based in Watford, supporting the Customer Care Department as an administrator and answering customers' correspondence by letter.Responsibilities included:• Replying to the majority of letters received from customers, including those addressed to the Managing Director, Ben Gordon, and ensuring that they are logged and filled accurately.• Responsibility for the department's banking, which includes loading purchased and goodwill gift cards, liaising with banks for card authorisations and raising cheques.• Supporting the rest of the Mailcom team by answering customer emails and ensuring that all queries are resolved within service level targets• Liaising with other departments of the company (such as the finance department, product technologists, buyers, and the Managing Director's and Company Secretary's office), as well as with external bodies, including but not limited to Trading Standards Institute, Citizens Advice Bureaux, couriers and stores.• Working with a number of different systems, such as Mailbrain and JDA, which contain information about orders, suppliers and products.
