Reporting to the Production Director I am responsible for:• Manage and motivate a team of 208 production and supervision staff.• Management of departmental OH and labour budgets.• Promote the Unipres Production System (Lean Manufacturing).

Reporting to the General Manager I was responsible for:• Manage a team of 8 commercial engineering staff.• Management of departmental budget.• Negotiate piece price and cost recovery items with all customers• Promote cost planning and cost ratio within Unipres UK.• Coordinate VA / VE activities within the plant to drive technical solutions to support customer(s) annual sales cost down commitments.• Cost Ratio analysis to remain competitive whilst maintaining a healthy operational profit margin.• Preparing for annual J-SOX audits and reports.

Reporting to the Managing Director I was responsible for:• Manage and motivate a team of 47 inspection and quality engineering staff.• Manage and maintain the integrity of the companies Quality Management System in accordance to Unipres UK QMS, TS16949:2009 and CSR’s.• Development of a management system used to govern new model projects in accordance with customers APQP and PPAP requirements.• Promote and execute the Unipres Production System (lean manufacturing), and attend annual Global conferences in Japan to support presenting Unipres UK’s KPI and kaizen achievements to top executives of the Unipres Corporation.• Implemented the cultural change and system mechanism required to promote 5 WHY root cause analysis as a primary problem solving tool within Unipres manufacturing operations.

Assembly Engineering

Assembly Process design, from concept to handing-over to the production department. Considering the customers drawing and design specifications whilst associating lean manufacturing techniques to develop a process capable of building assemblies in an efficient and cost effective environment. Purchasing of capital equipment and managing budgets in excess of £8 million.Project manage and include all customer specific APQP requirements, including travelling to Japan to buy-off processes in accordance to European legislation prior to shipment to the UK assembly plant.• Managed a team of 6 engineering staff.• Develop and maintain project management of large scale automotive manufacturing programs with values in excess of £8 million capital investment.• Prepare assembly process buy-off documentation in accordance to CE marking specifications.• Travel to Japan as chief engineer to approve facilities and agree remedial measures in order to comply with European regulations prior to shipment to the UK.• Smooth New Model launches in accordance to APQP / PPAP with regard to system completeness, process Takt accuracy and component quality pedigree in accordance to customer(s) requirements.
