The company’s products are approved for use by some of the most discerning Government organisations.As a member of the executive team, I led Garrison from seed funding through to successful exit to Everfox in August 2024. In that time we scaled Garrison from 5 employees, pre-revenue, to 165 staff across UK, USA and Italy and >£20m revenue.Highlights from my Garrison career include:- Contributing to corporate strategy activities including investor decks/presentations- Preparing the company for, and managing, DD activities for multiple successful VC fund raises and ultimate sale to Everfox- Financial modelling and forecasting, leading on this until we hired a CFO in 2022- Establishing and operating foreign subsidiaries in USA, Italy and Singapre including incorporating local entities, conducting transfer pricing analyses, creating intercompany agreements (including data protection agreements), establishing local accounting and tax partnerships and payroll/benefits providers- Establishing the HR function, leading HR personally until we hired dedicated personnel- Running Garrison’s IT function, acting as both CIO and CISO, and successfully taking the company through security certifications (ISO27001, SOC2 Type 2, Cyber Essentials+)- Overseeing hardware manufacturing operations - ensuring high quality standards, continuity of supply and cost optimisation- Establishing and overseeing the Customer Experience function (which included Customer Support, - Professional Services and Pre-Sales teams)- Being responsible for Facilities management and strategy

    After the acquisition of Detica by BAE Systems, I progressed through various roles including Project Manager, then Delivery Manager up to my ultimate role as Head of Department for the Network Intelligence group. The group sold technology and services to perform complex analysis of data on high speed optical data links. As Head of Department, I had full responsibility for the department, including meeting P&L targets, delivery oversight of multiple projects (>40 concurrently), sales and customer support. Our work comprised a mix of software and electronics development, professional services, installation, commissioning and in-service support of high performance systems, in demanding environments. The department comprised approximately 120 staff spread between Gloucester and Guildford, UK.Other key achievements include being enrolled in BAE Systems’ Future Leaders Programme, and winning multiple Chariman’s Awards for successful projects.

    Detica was a high-end technical consultancy, which was acquired by BAE Systems in 2008.I worked as a digital electronic engineer developing hardware products. As a firmware developer I wrote VHDL for FPGAs. The majority of our product development was carried out on the largest, highest-performance silicon available at the time.I also led the design of several major circuit boards, taking on the whole development life cycle: requirements gathering, specification, schematic capture, layout, prototype manufacture, set-to-work and completion to final delivery.I led the transition of products from prototype to mass manufacturing, designing the manufacturing procedures and monitoring their implementation, which included a mixture of outsourced and in-house assembly and test.
