I am a qualified employment lawyer and former Global Head of HR at Investec Asset Management (now Ninety One) and the Gartmore Group, both FTSE 250 companies.  I have also held the role of People Director at Ark, an education charity. I now focus on putting employment law into practice, including carrying out investigations and executing complex people projects such as large scale restructuring, reorganisations, TUPE transfers and collective consultation redundancy exercises.​I am able to use my extensive experience as both an HR Director and employment lawyer to provide organisations with advice, guidance and support on a broad range of people-related business issues.  For many years, I have been putting my legal knowledge into practice, often in complex, challenging circumstances, which means I have had to learn to deliver highly pragmatic and commercial solutions under pressure.  I believe that this has helped make me a better lawyer, a better business adviser and a better HR practitioner. As well as UK-based roles, I have extensive international experience in Europe, the US, Asia and Africa and am a seasoned operator at Executive, Board and Remuneration Committee level.  During my career, I have successfully managed large teams and have had overall responsibility for employment law matters as well as HR functions such as Reward, Recruitment, Learning and Development, Employee Relations and HR Operations.I have broad employment law and HR generalist experience with a particular focus on investigations, employee relations, high profile/high value exits, reward strategy and regulation and organisational change such as redundancy exercises, M&A, setting up and closing offices and outsourcing.  Underpinning everything I do is a passion for making organisations great places to work, which I believe is a key driver of business success.I am able to support on both long-term strategic projects as well as day-to-day advice.
