The Tāhuhu Programme is an infrastructure programme delivering new & upgraded modern purpose-built facilities across Archives NZ, the National Library of New Zealand of and Ngā Taonga Sound & Vision. The first stage of this programme, a new Wellington archival building connected to the National Library via a link bridge, enables the collaboration of the 3 institutions and creation a national documentary heritage campus. Future stages, currently in planning and design, includes a new highly resilient and sustainable shared collections ‘deep storage’ facility and upgrades or exit of existing facilities.My responsibilities in this role are to lead the planning, design and delivery of building projects included preparation of business cases; land acquisition/divestment; associated civil and landscaping works; and stakeholder management. The new Wellington archival building is due for completion in early 2025.

Leading and managing major building development, related infrastructure and organisational change programmes for public and private sector clients.Providing independent expert advice in the delivery and governance of complex property development projects.I led the design and delivery of He Tohu permanent exhibition for Internal Affairs. It features NZ's original iconic constitutional documents: 1840 Treaty of Waitangi;1835 He Whakaputanga Declaration of Independence of NZ; and 1893 Women's Suffrage Petition. The exhibition, which opened in 2017, is located in the National Library of NZ Building, Wellington.

Christchurch

Following the devastating earthquakes of 2010/11, the Christchurch Earthquake Recovery Authority established the CCDU to develop and deliver the central city rebuild.As Development Director my role was to lead and support the planning, design and delivery of anchor projects across the southern quarter of the central city including:o Metro Sports Facility complex, circa $300 million comprising NZ largest aquatic and indoor sports facilitieso Christchurch Health Precinct focused on health education, research and innovation. o The $300 million Christchurch Justice and Emergency Services Precinct.o The South Frame urban revitalization, promoting innovation and business start-up.

In 2007 the National Library of NZ established the New Generation Implementation Programme (NGIP) to modernisation and transform the National Library services.My responsibilities in this role were to lead the design and delivery of facilities upgrade and service change for the National Library included business case development and stakeholder engagement. The programme included extensive refurbishment of the 24,000 m2 National Library facility in Wellington and fitout of new Auckland premises. This was a large, complex and challenging project having been undertaken with most of NZ’s documentary heritage collections of the Alexander Turnbull Library remaining in the building during refurbishment.

My responsibilities in this role were to lead the strategy, planning, design and delivery of capital works projects across all 20 existing sites. This included preparation of site master plans; international best practice and design benchmarking; development of internal design standards; business cases; design and delivery of upgrades and new buildings; associated civil and landscaping works; and stakeholder management. The project work I lead and delivered included:o Managing the facilities capital works and upgrade programmeo Major projects planning, funding and delivery of the upgrade and expansion of Rimutaka and Mt Eden Remand Corrections Facilities (including the decommissioning of the historic old Mt Eden Prison)o Corrections Principal and client-side programme director for the Regional Prisons Development Programme - involved the design and construction of 4 new green field prisons through Collaborative Working contracting (a form of Alliance Contracting)
