- Led team of midshipmen aerospace engineers to design, build, test and fly cubesat satellites through a hands-on approach to educating future systems engineers and Navy officers. Current satellite projects are ParkinsonSat (PSAT) and TetherSat (TSAT).- Teach undergraduate astronautical engineering courses. Subjects taught and other areas of specialization include: Satellite Design, Optimal Control, Satellite Attitude Dynamics and Control, Systems Engineering, Astrodynamics, Principles Astronautical Engineering, Satellite Systems and Program Management.

Ph.D Candidate researching optimal control of satellites using electrodynamic tethers for propulsion in Low Earth Orbit (graduating July 2008). Authored two journal articles in the Journal of Guidance, Control and Dynamics. Conceived a method of transforming complex and often unsolvable optimal control problems into Fourier space where they are drastically reduced to simple problems that are easily solved using optimization software. Used Matlab and DIDO optimization software to design controllers that perform optimal spacecraft maneuvers.

Managed key subsystem programs for a multiple satellite acquisition program (ACAT I equivalent). Qualified NRO Level II Systems Engineer. Led team that evaluated proposals for a multiple satellite procurement contract saving the government millions of dollars.

Responsible for budgeting, planning and executing over 10 new space technology development and test programs. Coupled cutting edge technologies developed by industry and academia with critical needs of DoD and Intelligence Community.

Managed aircraft configuration, material condition and a $32M depot overhaul budget for 56 E-2C and C-2A aircraft. As an experienced aviator with almost 2000 hours in the E-2C Hawkeye and a DoD level II program manager, led team of engineers to generate, test and evaluate engineering changes to legacy fleet aircraft. Volunteered over 30 flight hours per year as a flight instructor to train new E-2C Naval Flight Officers. Led Navy Relief Society fund drive for all aircraft carriers homeported on the east coast and raised over $363K for sailors and marines in need. Established and led contract maintenance teams to improve aging C-2 aircraft readiness by 100% earning a 4th Navy Commendation Medal. Achieved Department of Defense (DoD) level II qualification in Program Management and Systems Program Research, Development and Engineering. Accepted into the DoD Acquisition Professional Community (now part of the Acquisition Corps)

Flew nearly 2000 hours as special aircrew in the E-2C Hawkeye radar surveillance aircraft. Over 1500 of these hours as battlespace Mission Commander responsible for providing command, control and coordination for up to 60 aircraft simultaneously. Led Air Wing in planning and execution of air strike exercises in southern Iraq during Operation Southern Watch in a combat area earning 4th Navy Commendation Medal. As military communication data link expert, evaluated and improved the data link architecture resulting in 100% link connectivity between operational ship, aircraft and ground station units. Authored 6 new operating procedure manuals for technical subsystems. Supervised squadron tactical development and evaluation projects, including test of a new satellite communications system and a secure HF radio. Developed and instituted better systems employment and operating procedures to combat drug trafficking. Trained as a Carrier Airwing Strike Leader.

As Fleet Replacement Squadron instructor, personally trained over 100 Naval Flight Officers in tactics, Electronic Warfare, Weapon System software and the E-2C Passive Detection System. Led division of training officers to train and qualify two fleet squadrons in a new series aircraft.Physical Fitness Coordinator. Instituted fitness program for a command of nearly 500 active duty members involving group fitness activity periods for two shifts of workers. Program vastly improved the physical condition of many of the members evidenced by improved semi-annual fitness testing scores.Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Officer- Identified substance abusers and potential abusers and connected them to appropriate programs to seek help. Six high risk individuals were identified and directed to these life changing programs.

Aircraft Maintenance Quality Assurance Officer: Led a maintenance division of senior enlisted sailors that ensured safe and proper aircraft maintenance practices were being observed. Identified and reported outdated or incomplete procedures to ensure the safest flying platform possible. Determined and recommended maintenance inspections that improved aircraft safety without unnecessarily burdening the maintenance personnel.Electronic Warfare Officer & Naval Flight Officer:Trained 30 fellow squadron officers on the employment of aircraft long range search radar and passive detection. A graduate of Electronic Warfare Officer School became an expert in adversary electronic signals then programmed aircraft passive detection system to optimize detection and identification of signals in the Persian Gulf. Qualified as flight Mission Commander, responsible for leading command, control and coordination efforts supporting up to 80 aircraft in flight operations in hostile environment as part of Operation Southern Watch earning a Navy Commendation Medal with a combat "V".
