After 8 years of gathering knowledge and skills, I decided to start my own branding business with help from two friends. The first thing I learned was how important your network is, and also to surround yourself with people who can do things you can’t.Amazingly, we won our very first pitch to rebrand the Australian version of the BRIT Awards: The ARIA’s (Australian Recording Industry Association) included logo creation, press ads, street posters, invites, passes, arena banners, set design, menus, magazine covers and all related visual communication. It’s fair to say I never dreamed of our first client being the night of nights for the Australian music industry. Rock n’ Roll.Brand Mechanics was subsequently awarded the Phonographic Performance Company Australia (PPCA) account, the scope of which included brand communications across print and digital including style guide, print/digital advertising, corporate communications including annual reports. On the back of these successful projects I was asked to reposition and rebrand Music Industry Piracy Investigations (MIPI). The scope of which included: brand creation, including strategy, naming and positioning, logo, stationery, website art direction and media pack design.I also collaborated with the Ogilvy Group to brand the Australian Pavilion at the Shanghai World Expo
