Responsible for editorial direction of the Citizen's City section, setting priorities for day-to-day and long-term coverage. Plan and manage special news projects, enterprise series, investigativereports and events coverage employing reporters, editors, photographers, layout, design and web page staff. Planning and co-ordination of coverage for city budgets, municipal, provincial and federal elections. Manage a newsroom reporting staff of more than two dozen, as well as freelancers, and the budget from which they are paid.

Managed approximately two-dozen copy editors and layout people and a night rewrite desk to ensure quality control maintained and productiondeadlines met. Oversaw the design and content of all sections of the paper, with emphasis on the front and other A-section news pages.

Edited, laid out and paginated the Politics pages, as well as otherNational, Foreign and Toronto section news pages. Served as backup to Page One Editor.
