Energy PolicyI have directed and delivered a number of high profile projects for the European Commission, UK national government, regional development agencies and local authorities. My projects include the West Midlands Energy Strategy. Environment My experience with regard to environmental issues include studies into the effectiveness of regulatory inspection for the Environment Agency and more practical work carrying out ROC / NFFO compliance audits of renewable generating plants for Ofgem.Eco innovation At a European level my experience includes policy work for DG Environment on the effects of market pull mechanisms on eco –innovation, a review of international policy mechanisms in this area and the current mid term evaluation of the SCP/IP Action Plan. My experience also includes numerous reviews of bids for the Carbon Trust’s applied research programme.Resource Efficiency I have a genuine knowledge of the policies and programmes in this area. My project experience covers policy reviews for SWRDA and programme evaluations for AWM and the Environment Agency. Renewable Energy Project BidsI have worked on a number of funding applications and appraisals related to large scale renewable energy plants, this includes the recently approved ERDF application by Aston University for the European Bioenergy Research Institute (EBRI), Environmental technology My knowledge and experience in this area covers a wide range of sector studies and related research. My experience also extends to the skills needs of this area. For example I directed projects for the NWDA and DG TREN. Statistics My experience in statistics is particularly strong with regard to indicators of sustainable development, stretching from work for Eurostat through to recent experience on indicators of well being for both Eurostat and DG Environment. My experience also covers energy use statistics,

CHP Experience Feasibility studies - Completed over 20 which have involved analysis of existing energy consumptions and costs. Clients from a wide range of sectors including The Boots Company, 10 NHS Trusts, 4 Universities, Bass, Scottish Hydro, Dalkia, and London Borough of Southwark. Specific Energy StrategiesInvolved survey and analysis of existing and projected energy loads, formulation of capital and operating costs for a full range of technical, operational and financial options. Clients include Kraft, London Borough of Southwark, 11 NHS Trusts, and Ministry of Defence.Energy Efficiency AdviceInvolving detailed site energy surveys, modelling and benchmarking of consumptions by calculation of expected loads from installed plant, building fabric, process details and published sector norms. . Clients include London Electricity, NHS Trusts, and MAFF.Energy Management AdviceFormulated energy management policies to BRECSU guidelines for large energy users. BREEAM qualified and experienced. Drawn up specifications and analysed tender returns for Contract Energy Management (CEM) schemes. . Clients include NHS Trusts, Facilities Management companies, MOD, AHS Emstar.District HeatingI worked on a major investigation for Southwark Council into the condition and future options for their district heating systems.
