At the end of my internship I made a transition into the temporary position (maternity cover) of Development Assistant, where I continued to provide administrative and clerical support in the Amsterdam office. This includes responding to inquiries from colleagues, donors, media outlets and other organizations. I maintained the donor database by updating records and managing gift administration, and assisted in donor relationship management by scheduling and preparing meetings and coordinating correspondence.

The Development and Outreach Department of Human Rights Watch in Amsterdam works mainly on fundraising, outreach, advocacy support, and the organization of special events such as the annual Human Rights Weekend in Amsterdam. Some of my tasks:- Drafting documents and other correspondence related to donor outreach;- Writing the biweekly Netherlands Committee Update;- Preparing visits of HRW researchers, including being point of contact, organizing meetings and briefings, and booking accommodation and transport;- Proofreading, fact-checking, and translating documents used for external communication- Preparation and organization of the Human Rights Weekend 2018.
