Since 2005 I have been a self employed peripatetic percussion teacher working in schools across the London, Essex and Havering area. I work on a freelance basis, however I work closely with the Essex & Havering Music schools team, supporting students, colleagues and the team, developing and improving music provision across the borough.I have supported various performing and creative arts projects in schools, coordinating performances, shows and presentations to the school community and the public. I have project managed and coordinated a team of musicians for music based projects in schools, and I regularly take the lead in curriculum planning and assessment of pupils in preparation for exams. I have vast experience of preparing students for Trinity or Rockschool gradings, GSCE Music Performance and A Level Performance exams. I have performed drum kit recording sessions for schools, and supported A Level students with their Composition pieces. I am pleased to say my current student pass rate is 100% distinction.I organise and manage percussion workshops, small group Jazz & Samba ensembles, band workshops & recording workshops for professional musicians and beginners.

Music Mentor for Essex County Council, across a range of centres. I led and supported projects for young offenders, adults and young adults with Special Educational Needs and complex and challenging behavioural issues, as well as adults with mental health issues.Working as part of a team of site based and outreach workers, I developed and managed projects engaging young people and adults in creative arts activities including music tuition. Our objectives included enabling those involved to develop their self esteem, confidence and creativity.

Youth worker for Essex Council supporting the ‘’Bands Project’’ programme for 4 years developing a creative arts programme including music for young disadvantaged adults and young people under the supervision of the Youth Offending Service. I employed mentoring techniques, leading an engaging programme of learning which culminated in performances at the local theatre, radio shows and festivals.
