CONTRACT: Develop Automated Configuration ManagementImplement automated configuration management facility in a VAX cluster to support development of ABB EMS/SCADA software.

Develop and implement end-to-end CASE driven software development environments across multiple platforms for VLSI IC design software. Environments included automated managers for release/development configurations, source configurations, and processes controlling build, test, release and production. Environment at VLSI Technology was networked across TCP/IP on 7 platforms (Apollo, VAX, Elxsi, RIDGE, Wang, HP 9000, Sun) with Apollo resident build control.

Reduced build/release errors 85%-90% for Olivetti M20 PC & ATT PC 6300 systems & apps. Ported UNIX utilities sum & cmp to PC environments to verify integrity of cross-complied (on PDP/VAX) systems/application binaries and to verify authenticity of released binaries. Definition/creation of release/config architecture, policies & schedules. Implemented pre-CVS SCCS command envelope. Formalized third party application interface requirements and integration processes. Converted bug tracking systems from text based vi to INGRES DBMS.

Develop end-to-end CASE driven software development environment under VAX/VMS using initial release of CMS, DCL driven builds, EDT forms based bug reporting/tracking as working manager for Fairchild ATE Software Library (SWL). Manage Software Operations and Distribution Center (SODC) supporting pre-sales demos, implementing/supporting pre-sales HW/SW demo environments, managing controlled hand-off/return of pre-release & production software.
