About Rob De Jong

As shown by having a background in both development and consultancy, I love to combine my technical savvy with interpersonal skills. My professional journey brought me from development, through test and QA, to Product Management. Or as I like to say: from the How, via the What, to the Why. Our dynamic organization grows and develops continuously. Consequently, it takes both care and flexibility as we introduce new and exiting features into the product we offer. I strive to identify opportunities that allow us to keep growing as an organization, while also allowing our product to keep evolving at a rapid pace, in a stable manner, and in a valuable direction. Having worked closely with Engineering as Requirements Analyst, I have gained a solid grasp on both the technical and the functional aspects of our product, allowing me to assess and handle the risks and opportunities that we face. Everywhere, awareness of cyber security in increasing. The need for businesses to have control over their own environments goes hand in hand with that. At SecurityMatters, I am lucky enough to work with an enthusiastic group of experts on the cyber security and control tool "SilentDefense": our software solution that provides detailed information into the asset inventory of an operations environment at any level, both mapping and monitoring it. On top of that, it gives industries an accessible way to get fast, accurate and flexible warnings of potential threats. These include cyberattacks, but also dangerous operations, or even possible device misconfigurations. As part of the program management team, I am acting as a conduit between business and development. My role is to refine the ideas we have to further enhance our software’s capabilities. To create the design, specifications, and requirements that can be used by our development, testing, and operation teams. An important part of this is to ensure these specifications are both clear and understandable, but also correct and complete. Once the teams begin enhancing features of our software, I then safeguard the quality of these features throughout the development process and ensure that the outcome does indeed match the needs and wishes of our customers.Within this role, I can combine many of my passions and expertise. Having a development background, I know the reality of development, which helps me to identify what is required for developers to be able to keep up their high quality at a good pace. Having an expertise in Quality Management and Testing, I am able to look at our product from multiple perspectives. This is valuable while verifying whether our updates are ready to serve their intended purpose for our customers. And because I am serving as a conduit between our teams, the social interactions I have become an integral part of my work – which I both love and value.
