Over five years I was responsible for overseeing recruiting initiatives, supporting educator preparation programs, and developing and supporting year-long teacher residencies. EDUCATOR PREPARATION PROGRAMSMy responsibilities included:- Ensuring programs comply with state and national codes, regulations, and standards. - Supporting programs through all phases of the approval process. - Working with Delaware Department of Education personnel to create protocols for reviewing and approving applications.- Supporting the department and educator preparation programs to collect and report data for a bi-annual state report, and for CAEP national accreditationYEAR-LONG TEACHER RESIDENCIESMy responsibilities included:- Creating protocols for project management and creating documents.- Working with the National Center for Teacher Residencies (NCTR) to create and update a residency Request for Application. - Overseeing a team to score applications and award funding. - Create protocols to track funding and ensure compliance with state guidelines- Working with US PREP to monitor residencies and explore sustainability models- Working with Wested to conduct a landscape analysis of residencies across the state

- Created a new $1.3M programs to develop innovative solutions to recruit and train career changers to become classroom teachers. Reported annually to the US Department of Education. - Successfully trained 60-90 new teacher candidates each year. Supported teacher candidates in all phases through full certification. Worked with the Department of Education team to update the state code for ARTC programs which was enacted into law. - Sought by the Department of Education to become the state-wide administrator for the online teacher application system.

- Placed and monitored approximately 1500 education students in a variety of settings each year throughout Delaware and surrounding states in schools and other programs such as the Boys and Girls Club.- Interfaced with district personnel from classroom teachers to superintendents to resolve questions regarding placements; represented the University at district and state meetings.- Created the first set of protocols requiring student teachers to undergo criminal background checks. Counseled students with criminal records. Helped implement the University of Delaware Professionalism Policy for Educators (Dispositions); worked with faculty and educators to address student behavior; attended Dispositions Hearings to ensure compliance with policy. - Addressed classes and large groups on expectations for dress and behavior each semester; counseled students on issues involving schedules, transportation, behavior, and criminal records.- Created and maintained the Clinical Studies website.- Responsible for the collection and reporting data for a variety of areas such as student teaching evaluations, dispositions, demographics, and surveys through a variety of instruments including Qualtrics. - Helped plan and implement training for teachers and clinical faculty who work with teacher candidates. - Helped to successfully create an Advancement via Individual Achievement (A.V.I.D.) Partnership with Christina School District that sent hundreds of UD students as tutors to assist middle and high school students.
