About Robert Skinner

Still young and full of potential!I have been working for over 8 years now since leaving education. My first full-time role was at Fast Track reclaim, where I would input personal data (under the laws of the DPA act of 2008) onto a database and make sure that the PPI claim got that one step further.I would be in charge of checking that the data the client has written down, matches the information we have on the system. I also would then liaise with the banks to make sure that not only is the data we provided correct, but also that the data they returned was also correct.I had to proof-read and analyse the data and then send it off to the right department.I also helped write the process guide for the Pre-Submission department of the company. After many drafts, I wrote a simple to follow guide for any new member of the team to follow or any current member to reconcile their memory.After 2 and a half years I decided to leave the company as I felt I was not gaining enough progress within the company and had achieved all I could in my current role.A few months later and I was employed at J&B Recycling. I was employed as Maternity cover which is why my time there was so short. However I learned a great deal whilst I was there. I learned more database management skills, Route analysis, Customer service skills, Telesales, Organisational skills and accounting skills; especially through profit/loss scenarios. I also made some great connections in my short time there. I got on with everyone and enjoyed my brief spell with them.Most recently I began a new chapter in my conquest at Cubic (Transportation Systems) Ltd. An almost strategically inconspicuous company that is huge in the three leading societal categories: Transportation, Defense Tech and Misson Control.I am currently a System Administrator. This role has enhanced my Linux and Windows backoffice knowledge and also 3rd party software such as Orion/Solarwinds and Apache tomcat. I have also undergone an ITIL course and I have greatly broadened my Bash scripting skills.I have since departed Cubic and I am now looking for the next stage in my career!May the light shine on me during this new lease of life!
