My career aspirations and professional experiences complement the Non-Governmental Sector, Diplomatic Missions, International Businesses, and Legislative work. Having served as a United States Marine for the past 17 years and living and working abroad for 10 years in countries including Japan, Sri Lanka, Belgium, and Chad, I bring a wealth of intercultural experience. My military experience in Japan has sought to strengthen the bilateral relationship between the United States and Japan.I graduated with a master’s degree from the International Affairs program at George Washington University. I have become familiar with complex policy research and analysis and creating attainable recommendations to improve the policies of governments and intergovernmental organizations. I have strong organizational skills and work well within a team environment. I have a functional understanding of Japanese. I can draft correspondence, meeting notes, and conference summaries summarizing the key points essential to drafting and product policy, leading to practical outcomes.Through my embassy experience, I have gained significant expertise in coordinating cultural outreach events. I have also coordinated and participated in fundraising events that benefited many Non-Governmental Organizations and charities while serving in the Marine Corps, such as the annual Toys-4-Tots toy drive. As an administrative and logistics Marine, I was responsible for scheduling transportation, meetings with Command Officers, and coordinating conferences between different levels of the organization. I regularly communicated with outside business owners, stakeholders, and contractors through various formats, including email, phone conversations, and virtual meetings.
