Career Specialist
CurrentProvide core and intensive services to dislocated workers, adults including outreach, recruitment, and case management. Provide crisis intervention and coaching to help clients deal with transitions between employment, training and reemployment. Provide career and educational counseling to clients and job center customers.Responsible for intake, testing, individualized assessment, orientation, job search assistance, job development, job placement assistance, relocation assistance, coordination of support services. Along with coordination of participant TAA/TRA/Unemployment benefits with Job Service staff and referrals to other agenciesMaintain detailed case management files both in paper form and electronically.Perform liaison activities among local unions, companies, education entities, WIOA and non-WIOA agencies, and community service agencies. Work with customers in person, virtual environments and willing to flex schedule to meet their busy schedules.Active team member that helps with planning and coordination hiring events at local job centers Advisory Committee member for local technical college that reviews various proposed training programs based on local labor market and business requests.
