Recently retired from the National Guard, my last role prior to retirement was filling in as the acting Operations SGT along with doing the duties of Ammunition SGT. The Operations SGT is a key Senior NCO leader in the unit leadership team and advise commander on training based on the requirements for short term, long term planning for the 585+ members of the Field Artillery BN. In addition provided Supervision of the Operations platoon that consisted of nearly forty five personnel in the various training and mission environments along with all assigned equipment that is valued in excess of $390 Million Dollars with any losses. Over the years of service held various leadership jobs from Team Leader/ Gunner/Ammo Team Chief, Squad Leader/ Section Chief, Gunnery SGT, Platoon SGT/acting Platoon Leader, Acting First SGT Held Secret clearance for majority of military career. Coach and Mentor Non Commissioned Officers and Junior Commissioned officers on coaching and team building. Provide regular performance reviews of junior Non Commissioned Officers and Soldiers.Train service members on various tasks related to Field Artillery and basic Soldiering.Served in various roles throughout career, have served two tours to the Middle East in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In addition has served as instructor training several thousand Soldiers, Airmen that were deploying on various missions in Iraq and Afghanistan regions.
