Sr. Systems EngineerLeidos Feb 2016 - PresentReston, Virginia, UsMost recently presented a plan and executed it to convert all of the FAA spectrum engineering departments critical applications from over 15 physical servers consolidated down to 5 Physical devices utilizing virtualization technology. Mainly VMware 7.0. This included providing hardware recommendations which were accepted by the Federal client, quoting out the systems for purchase. And building out the servers infrastructure. The system went live in December 2020 This included setting up all the hardware redundancies (RAID-5),configuration of all remote hardware maintenance components on all servers (IDRAC), Creation and installation of all Windows operating systems virtual machines running Windows 2019 Server datacenter edition, adding the systems to the FAA active directory domain and handing off the VM's to developers.. Once in place, I performed monthly maintenance on all elements of the VSphere which includes updating Windows 2019 datacenter servers with critical updates, updating the Vmware ESXI servers to latest versions to insure the devices are protected from cybersecurity threats, and apply all server related updates. Additionally I have configured IIS components for various Spectrum web applications such as JCN, and IRCAS.Support the FAA on the National Airspace System (NAS) Integration Support Contract (NISC IV) in all matters involving Spectrum Engineering from an IT/Electronics standpoint.Provide IT solutions that help the FAA locate, detect, and eliminate all forms of radio frequency interference on all NAV and COM frequencies including the national emergency frequency. Manage research and development facility located in Pittsburgh PA.Perform testing and research into future advancements in RFI and IDF programs to provide the best IT solutions to solve the ongoing problem of tower to plane interference. Provided the FAA with a system that is designed to detect and decode digital data bursts that are broadcasted on unauthorized frequencies. -
It/Rf EngineerLockheed Martin Feb 2011 - Feb 2016Bethesda, Md, UsUsed Vmware Workstation to build out a Sharepoint environment with intergrated Microsoft Project server using one overpowered desktop computer and presented it to Spectrrum leadership as an option to manage their increasingly heavy workload.Support the FAA on the National Airspace System (NAS) Integration Support Contract (NISC II) in all matters involving Spectrum Engineering from an IT/Electronics standpoint.Provide IT solutions that help the FAA locate, detect, and eliminate all forms of radio frequency interference on all NAV and COM frequencies including the national emergency frequency. This included the build out of a Windows active directory domain here in Pittsburgh which included Microsoft operating system imaging capabilities to provid the ability to mass produce systems to be sent out to the field to FAA users to aid in their RFI detection taks. I also have built and provided instruction on server solutions and serviced requests from web developers to provide them with the infrastructure needed so they could meet the clients requeirments. IE: Server install, Web services configuration and installation (IIS and Apache) and code deployment. -
