• Responsible of receiving, reviewing and approving oil spill discharge and prevention contingency plans for all marine non-crude oil transporters for the State of Alaska as outlined in both Alaska statutes and regulations. • Identify aspects of vessel operations to test for compliance with State oil spill prevention regulations and develop; conduct and evaluate drills or exercises to test for compliance. • Schedule and conduct compliance inspection onboard oil tankers and fuel barges to verify compliance with approved spill plans as well as Alaska statutes and regulations.• Interact with not only the contingency plan holders, but other government agencies, federal, state and local, community councils and groups, other interested stakeholders and the general public.• Part of ADEC’s Spill Response Team; participated in the M/V Selendang Ayu spill response in Dutch Harbor, AK in 2004.

• Responsible for the operation of deck equipment, cooking, maintenance and watchstanding during law enforcement patrols onboard State Trooper patrol vessel, P/V Stimson.• Operated small boats, cranes, deck gear and anchoring equipment as part of duties assigned. Responsible for galley space, all food purchases and cooking as well as all survival and fire fighting equipment onboard.

• Conducted marine vessel boardings, investigated pollution incidents, acted as OSC representative, lead passenger vessel security inspector, served as spill sample custodian and responsible for Sea Partners program.• Part of the 1996 USCG Atlanta Olympic Security Force.
