I am responsible for leading and developing our research efforts across investment grade and high yield credit markets globally. Having operated as separate IG and HY teams for five years, we decided to recombine in March 2021, to bring focus and consistency to our sweet spot of crossover credit - those companies falling either side of this arbitrary dividing line. My focus will be on continuing to strive for excellence in our research and in our decision-making processes. I am excited to develop our thinking on efficiently identifying and analysing material sustainability risks, on systematic factors in credit markets and on using technology to do our job better.

I headed the High Yield Credit investment team at Baillie Gifford, leading a team of experienced investors. We have a strong long-term track record in the European high yield market, as evidenced by the performance and growth of the Baillie Gifford High Yield Bond Fund. The team was formed in July 2016 when the Credit team grew and split to maintain accountability, flexibility and quality of decision making. Our growth in resource supports a broadening of our horizons to encompass the US high yield market as a new specialism for the firm.

Ten years as manager of the Baillie Gifford Investment Grade Long Bond Fund delivering our targeted relative return over a fascinating period in financial markets. Co-manager of the Baillie Gifford High Yield Bond Fund since June 2010 and the Baillie Gifford Worldwide Global Credit Fund since September 2012. Also managed segregated portfolios of investment grade bonds with short and long maturity mandates.
