Was responsible for running projects from start to finish and working closely with the business units who require changes to their actuarial models. Key projects include:• Managing Prophet developers on a project to migrate individual annuities from one admin system to another (In Payment Services Project).• Successfully implementing a Unit Pensions movement model point project into the Workplace Savings model.• Several annuities developments, most notably being the implementation of a tactical solution to convert reinsurance pricing spreadsheets into Prophet model points to enable much faster analysis of reinsurance treaties at month end reporting.

I joined Legal & General (L&G) as a graduate and have worked as part of the Savings Solvency II, Savings Pricing and Modelling & Finance Solutions teams. I was also seconded for a month to L&G Reinsurance in Bermuda.My responsibilities included: * Managing the Prophet Enterprise environment for all of the Savings formula fitting runs required for the Solvency II internal model exercise. ; * Developing and training other team members on different tools created in VBA to streamline the table automation and run processes for Solvency II. ; * Keeping Pricing Prophet models up-to-date for bonds and pensions. This involved detailed reconciliations with the financial reporting models and implementing Solvency II and Economic Capital functionality into both models. ; * Performing fund price updates on all of the funds offered for the pension and bond products. ; * Being responsible for keeping the Pensions Underwriting model up-to-date and, when required, adding in new functionality, for example auto enrolment escalation rates. I also created a user friendly VBA tool for the Underwriters to perform Prophet runs easily. ; * Being a key member of unit linked fund pricing remediation working parties. This involved liaising with many different stakeholders around the business and developing several tools within DCS and VBA. ; * Implementing the Prophet Systems and controls for L&G Reinsurance. I also led a large reinsurance procurement deal which involved liaising with many brokers back in the UK and summarising the decision to the CEO for approval. ; * Working independently on large projects whilst working in the Modelling and Finance Solutions team. These projects included a Standard Formula Aggregation model (VBA), an Annuities analysis of change movements project (Prophet) and aligning Unit Pensions Bonus models (Prophet).

I worked full time at Lloyds Banking Group as an Industrial Placement student across the Customer Modelling and Econometric Forecasting teams. At the end of my contracted period, I was invited to stay and continued working with the company for a further three months. Whilst working with Lloyds my responsibilities included: * Building statistical models to predict customer behaviour using SAS programs, which required considerable data manipulation from Lloyds' data warehouse. ; * Monitoring the performance of over 100 models and tracking where they were used throughout the business. This involved designing new reports and spreadsheets that are now commonly used by the team. ; * Communicating with many areas of the business to obtain assumptions for econometric forecasts. I was responsible for all the product forecasts, including credit cards and current accounts, which were used to predict different product sales throughout the year. ; * Running a recruitment day for the next set of placement students. This required time management and organisational skills that ensured a very successful day.
