My responsibilities at Gordon include: Setting up, testing, and running Gordon’s wellbore surveying / geology evaluation / data collection and management systems. I regularly communicate with the customer to provide guidance, support, and clarity regarding the performance and capabilities of our systems.

Ensuring all personnel, equipment, and well information is exactly what the customers’ projects need and that they are ready to deploy on time.  Assisting in troubleshooting on-site MWD system issues.  Hiring and training MWD FEs.

My responsibilities at DrilTech included: Regularly communicated with existing clients to ensure their complete satisfaction with our performance and service. I helped to answer customers’ questions, including technical, operational, and procedural queries. I helped develop opportunities with new clients at every level, from initial pricing proposals and project preparedness to End-Of-Well final invoicing.

During my time as manager, I was instrumental in growing the company’s MWD department from a 12 project capacity to a nearly 60 project capacity, in five locations around the US. I developed a great team of MWD Coordinators that oversee the work for offices in Houston, West TX, WY, WV, and OK - using the policies and practices I created. I oversaw interviewing, hiring, and training of MWD Operators to become proficient with various wellbore surveying hardware/software suites, plus geology evaluation software. Managed payroll of all MWD Department employees. Also ensured field employee utilization was optimized with regards to days/month and skillset/customer needs. Helped to develop strategies for managing system performance in challenging drilling environments such as the Haynesville, Bakken, and Eagle Ford areas. Worked alongside executive management and the CFO to create quarterly financial statements and budgets for the MWD Department. Used Microsoft Office to create Meantime Between Failure (MBTF) reports, product offering presentations, historical performance graphs/spreadsheets, and failure analyses to present to customers. I often supported salesmen in customer meetings by providing technical support, planned problem resolutions, and to describe/explain reports to the audience. During this time, I also spent about six months managing MWD Tech room and inventory department staff.

While at Professional Guidance Services, I became their first MWD Coordinator. This was a time of rapid growth for the company, and I enjoyed being part of that growth by hiring and training people to meet staffing needs, creating policies and procedures for operators, troubleshooting MWD issues on every active project, and by working with various customers as well as vendors that were supporting our growth.

Worked in the field at Ryan Energy, running their slim, retrievable MWD (Measurement While Drilling) system. I stayed on through various company buyouts and mergers until my departure at the end of 2002 to join Professional Guidance Services (a division of Professional Directional) to run their Tensor-based MWD systems.
