I lead a team of 10 salary and 19 hourly Quality professionals focused on parts approval (Dimensional / Material Validation) and audit inspections for geometry / material control. Deliverables include Plant Components Qualification (dimensional, material, mountability, aesthetical) during development of new programs and/or parts change, Meisterbock / QAF components qualification during development process and life cycle of vehicles and material conformance analysis of main components during parts approval process .I manage the day to day operations, coach in structured problem solving methodology, conduct safety and process plant audits and manage all business operations for the Metrology facility. KPIs include management of body shop Cp/Cpk metrics, general assembly Engineering Build Objectives improvement, warranty 1MIS and 3 MIS and internal quality metrics. (CPA/CQI)

Role consists of managing 7 engineers and 10 SBU employees on their deliverables. Lead contact for all Dimensional Control Plan development and all FCA NA Metrology implementation. Global harmonization of Control Plan standards is a large deliverable required in this position which requires global collaboration. Previously launched the DT, JL/JT and KL MCA vehicles. All deliverables (In-plant assemblies, EBO BIW/TCF) were completed on time and under budget. Secondary task is to standardize all Metrology software applications. In 2018, I formed a team to conduct a feasibility study of the inspection software Polyworks to determine if FCA could implement a universal software solution for Metrology applications. The study was conducted across 4 assembly plants on 12 different hardware applications. The result was a recommendation to Sr. Management on instituting Polyworks software on all new and legacy Metrology operations to accomplish the following; simplified training for programmers (Sustainability), communize output (Simplicity) and reduced cost (~50% the cost of current software). The recommendation was accepted and the software will be utilized at the two new facilities.

Role included compiling and publishing the Directors monthly corporate report. Report included all dimensional quality KPI’s and plant justification for increase/decrease in vehicle quality. This role required extensive data mining and validation each month for the accuracy of the publication. Constant communication with each Assembly and Stamping plant was critical for accurate reporting and summary of actions taken for resolution. While in this position, I implemented several projects to streamline our reporting process. Data summarization, disposition tolerances process and report generation were just a few items optimized under my leadership and expertise. Secondary role while in this position was a ME Dimensional Process Auditor for FCA. This role required me to conduct a strict process audit at each assembly plant to ensure FCA was following documented standards. Demerits were rigorously documented and communicated to the Plant Manager and ME Vice President at the close out meeting following each audit. Official report generation was produced and provided to Sr. Leadership with PDCA journals documenting the resolution results. While on-site, I built personal connections with engineers, PRM’s and QCM’s who would invite me back to work on solutions to my findings. Lastly, I co-lead two major ME Innovation projects; Prototype Geometry Tree Analysis Software and the eCMM replacement benchmarking/feasibility study. Both projects awarded my team Dimensional Academy Awards (voted on by peers) and WCT Innovation Leader Awards (Voted on by Sr. Leadership). Additionally, I created a Laser Radar to CMM correlation process document for global dimensional use. The correlation document is now used for all Laser Radar buyoff procedures at FCA.

Primary role was Supervisor for the Advanced Metrology Group within FCA Manufacturing Engineering. (10 SBU Employees) Deliverables for the team included measurement program (CMM, Laser Gage, vision cells) implementation for all new vehicle launches, the creation of dimensional management reports, metrology techniques and standards creation and the investigation of new measurement technology. During my term, I pushed the SBU team beyond their previous capacity of only supporting engineering builds and lead them towards the on-site integration of their deliverables at the assembly plants. This enhanced responsibility dramatically increased our contribution to vertical launch at production CMM rooms along with building the foundation of a team environment for sustainable support. This is now the normal business practice of the AMG team since the 2012 PF launch at Belvidere Assembly Plant. Additional tasks completed include; Radar Chart Training modules for ME, Dimensional Technical Standard documentation, Global Standards Harmonization with EMEA counterparts, Green Belt Certified and multiple ME Innovation recognition projects.

Under my leadership, the Advanced Metrology Group had successfully supported 20 vehicle platforms from the prototype stage through the volume production stage located at various plants in North America. Each vehicle platform was considered a new project with multiple timeline overlap. The deliverable from my team was dimensional analysis reports for the engineering and manufacturing facilities. I was the trainer, on-site integrator and part of the root cause analysis team supporting the plants. Also, I implemented the capability to upload supplier part data to the central database to analyze part quality, the first of its kind.
