Always a self starter, Robert Blackerby entered the commercial real estate industry by going into business for himself in 1981. He initially began representing tenants such as Lanier and Safelite and traveled the southeastern United States identifying locations for those tenants. During this time he was able to familiarize himself with the southeastern markets which greatly contributed to his success as a developer.Approximately 25 years ago he began developing Eckerd Drug Stores and has developed and opened them throughout the southeastern region. Later he forged a relationship with Publix Supermarkets and began to develop grocery anchored power centers in the state of Florida; with the most recent 95,000 square foot Publix located in Tallahassee.Robert has been involved with several hotel developments, including Red Roof Inns, and a Marriott Courtyard in Gulf Shores, AL. He also spearheaded several condominium projects; Calypso Towers, in Panama City Beach, FL and Paradise Shores in Mexico Beach, FL. At completion these projects contain nearly 1000 units between them as well as retail, office and restaurant facilities.His entrepreneurial spirit brings both vision and energy to all of his endeavors. With his strong leadership qualities, excellent negotiation skills, forward thinking and ability to forge strong interpersonal relationships with tenants, partners and his employees.
