Since completing my PhD (Bio-organic Chemistry) from the School of Chemistry at St Andrews University, Scotland I have gained eight years postdoctoral research experience from Mount Sinai Medical School in New York. During this time I have acquired a broad base of experience in microbiology, virology, cell biology, cell culture, cloning, pcr, real-time pcr, siRNA knockdown, and flow cytometry.Along with this research experience I gained during my career to date I also have ample teaching experience. As a course leader I taught the laboratory-based 'Pathogenesis and Mechanisms of Host Defense' course to first year medical students for 4 years. Furthermore I supervised a number of rotation and PhD students in the laboratory.
