I am a writer, consultant and trainer in Human Factors and Ergonomics. I have extensive experience in the maritime and healthcare domains and significant experience over many years in office and industrial ergonomics. I recently presented the keynote address at the virtual Applied Human Factors and Ergonomics Conference in July on the theme of active office work. I am author of a standard textbook on Human Factors and Ergonomics which sells worldwide and is now in its fourth edition (work on the 5th edition begins in 2003). I recently published two new books - A Guide to Active Working in the Modern Office and Introduction to Human Factors in Accident Investigation. I am a Level 3 Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer. I served as President of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors 2020-21 and I am now a member of the CIEHF council.
