Bob has been active in the geothermal/water source heat pump industry since 1981 and began employment at newly formed WaterFurnace International in 1985. He holds several patents in the design, application, and control of geothermal/water-source heat pumps and was responsible for all product development and research of the company for over 30 years. Under his product design leadership, WaterFurnace has led the water source heat pump industry in many technology firsts including new refrigerant introductions, variable speed fan and compressor technology, integrated modular Aurora Controls and other advanced technologies. Recently, Bob has agreed to continue serving in the new position of VP of Regulatory Affairs and Advanced Development as he nears retirement. As a recipient of the 2023 AHRI “Richard C. Schulze” Distinguished Service Award for his years of Technical Leadership to the Industry, his extensive knowledge and application expertise makes him uniquely qualified to continue to lead the regulatory effort at WaterFurnace in this increasingly complex industry.He has been a frequent speaker in the HVAC industry and is active in many UL, IGSHPA, ASHRAE, ISO, CSA, and AHRI technical committees.
