This organisation has 33 staff including engineers, road designers, surveyors, GIS and IT experts, building inspectors, and administration. I also coordinate and work with up to 10 contractors at a time as well as liaise with Shire Councils and other stakeholders such as landholders, environmental contractors, indigenous Cultural Heritage bodies, geologists and soil testers. I have completed the project management of flood mitigation projects including road works and levy construction with budgets totaling over 28 million dollars over 4 years. I am responsible for the calling of tenders, implementation of project work, and the completion of this work to a satisfactory level required by the QRA (Queensland Reconstruction Authority).I am competent with spreadsheets and use these when budgeting projects. I also use spreadsheets to assist in the calculation of items such as quantities of gravel needed for construction and the assessment of the most economical gravel pits. I can accurately forecast the cost of a project worth millions of dollars which enables me to quickly calculate the costs of any variations due to a change in the scope of works.As the GIS technical officer I am the company surveyor. My survey work covers a broad range of activities, including asset management pick up such as a cemetery in Mornington Island to a caravan park in Birdsville and many places in between. I have completed major surveys and set out of design for Qld Department of Transport and Main Roads, many private clients, and a multiple of local government bodies, including, Barcaldine Regional Council, Longreach Regional Council, Winton Shire Council, Boulia Shire Council, Diamantina Shire Council, Blackall-Tambo Regional Council, Quilpie Shire Council, Mornington Shire Council and Central Highlands Regional Council.

As the Executive Officer I was responsible for the administration and finances of the organization, which at times involved managing around 50 separate, large and small, resource management environmental and conservation projects. I over saw 4 staff and worked with a management committee of 16. I over saw all projects being run by the organisation as well as managed several of the major projects myself. I was responsible for the designing and writing of funding submissions to the collection of field data and the writing and presentation of progress and final reports. As Executive Officer I was also required to make presentations at government and funding body board meetings and represented the organisation at field day events and seminars.As a government funded organisation substantial progress and final reports had to be completed. I gained a reputation of writing reports of a high standard and became proficient in collecting and recording information using GPS and cameras; and recording this data using GIS computer programs such as ARC view, Farm Keeper, Phoenix, OziExplorer, Photo Link, and Google Earth, utilizing, adapting and integrating new tools and methodologies into complex articulate accounts of project outputs and results. I successfully built relationships with a variety of stakeholders and gained a positive reputation with the government and regional bodies to which the Desert Uplands Committee reported. My reports set benchmarks in GIS information collation and have been used as examples of best practice reporting for on-ground projects.
