Created their internal web site to support the training program and their Customers, Managers and Account Reps. • Cool Jobs, Dallas, TXAs a consultant developed promotional video and sales materials for all the companies operating under Cool Jobs. Evaluated the development of a Vendor Management System uncovering staffing issues with outsourced programing and was tasked by the new owners to develop a plan to develop the software. Hired as CTO for Symbio Solutions to implement the programming and set up the staff and equipment required to develop the software.• Britt Group, Burlington, NCAs a consultant, directed the evaluation of Gametek's CA offices. Gametek produced Nintendo 64 games but did not meet deadlines. Review revealed gross mismanagement and was directed to close the office. This involved evaluation and security of source code, intellectual property and processes, termination of all personnel, closing the office and moving all assets to NC.• Nortel, Richardson, TXAs a training technology consultant, managed the $1.5M "Enhanced Installation & Maintenance" CBT project. Managed project managers and personnel, developed the training plan, selected the computer program for delivery, researched content and developed a certification process using passport disk technology. Directed staff of 10 programmers at 2 locations using C++, Authorware and Superscape's VR software.

The Britt Group is a collection of eight diverse companies with the largest of these being American Media International. As CTO for the Britt Group, managed all IT functions and MIS managers and personnel in the organization. Reported directly to the Owner and Company President.

IMEDIA, a technology marketing company specializing in integrated marketing solutions for clients in the telecommunications, computer networking, consumer electronics and entertainment industries.• In charge of all technology projects reporting directly to the President. Directed programming research and development at IMEDIA overseeing daily operations of all programmers and graphic artists.

Nortel supplies its service provider and enterprise customers with communications technology, training and infrastructure to enable value-added IP data, voice and multimedia services spanning Metro and Enterprise Networks, Wireless networks and Optical Long Haul Networks.• Reported to the Director of Training and served as the primary interface with customers and software vendors for Training Division. Worked on strategic & marketing plans for division. • In charge of all phases of development of Virtual Reality (VR) training programs. Worked with software vendors on major improvements to VR software in United Kingdom and California. Visited these locations to work directly with their personnel.

Taylor Publishing, major publisher of yearbooks with three production facilities in Texas and one in Pennsylvania. Reported directly to the Vice President of Human Relations.• In charge of Training and Development efforts for three plants (approximately 1,300 employees) and a nationwide sales force of 240. • Worked with Quality Circle groups in Manufacturing implementing Productivity Improvement techniques to redesign the technical process. • Developed or redesigned and delivered seven technical programs. As a result training costs were reduced by $50,000 per quarter, without a reduction in quality or performance. • Directed taskforce of MIS and manufacturing managers and personnel to convert from a conventional to digital imaging process. • Developed program to install, test and interconnect digital scanners and computer equipment and trained 200 employees on this new process without downtime. Trained and certified all Technical Training Instructors at all plants.

ELCOR’s principal subsidiaries manufacture roofing products, industrial products and provide electronics manufacturing services. Reported directly to the CEO and Chairman of the Board.

• Reported to the Vice President of Quality and the Director of Training at Corporate Headquarters.• Designed and implemented $1/2 M state-of-the-art computer-based program for use of executives and plant managers on product quality. Program included quality seminar, interactive training on all core products on 5 laser discs and computer-based simulation providing immediate performance feedback. Designed for multiple languages, program was used by Frito-Lay and PepsiCo Foods International to train quality managers throughout the world. Savings due to this program were in excess of $20M the first year. • Developed a computer-based statistical-process-control (SPC) packaging program for all 40 Frito-Lay plants (One of 2 certified Master SPC Instructors at Frito-Lay). Program utilized HP input stations linked to packaging machines and central computer system to collect and analyze data. Rolled out this system to all 40 Frito-Lay plants. Program saved over $40M a year.• Directed Packaging Training effort overseeing certification and training of Packaging Instructors and Managers in the various plants. • Designed self-study training program for Sales that eliminated two weeks of formal training on the computer-based ordering system by incorporating the training into the new hand-held unit. All training costs (travel, instructors, meeting room rentals, etc.) were eliminated and time for individual mastery was reduced to 8 hours or less. The hand-held unit would grade the exercises and when mastery was achieved would print out a certification of completion.• Designed Frito-Lay’s technical dictionary to facilitate communications between Sales, Manufacturing and Logistics.• Developed 5-day logistics management training program for all 300 logistics managers.• Developed computer-based Professional Truck Driving program on laser discs for all OTR drivers in Logistics Department.
