I managed the performance of seven government and private grant funded programs, totaling over $4 million, designed to provide transition assistance, employment counseling, direct job placement, housing and vocational training services to unemployed and homeless Veterans throughout Texas. This included the supervision of the performance of 25 case managers and administrative personnel who are geographically separated in 5 different cities in Texas. This included providing training to employees in outreach and communication strategies, case management techniques, and employer development strategies. I managed supportive service, Class Room Training and On-the-Job Training budgets to ensure goal attainment and the expense of obligated funds. I also routinely conducted community relations to promote the organization and programs to the Veteran community and community at large. This includes the development of promotional materials, organization of community events, job fairs and information fairs.

In this position, I managed more than 1.5 million in resources at locations scattered throughout Germany and other outlying nations. My staff and I managed the human resources, administration and logistics for over 500 Marines who served in remote locations. I also oversaw the morale, welfare and recreation aspects of their mission and helped family members face deployment issues. One of my most important roles was to help my organization embrace effective substance abuse prevention issues.

I served as the executive assistant to the commander and chief of staff for Marine Forces Europe. I managed their schedules, their trips and travel funding so that they could interact with the foreign military as well as their deployed troops. I left this position to assume the position of the commander for the Headquarters Company, U.S. Marine Corps Forces.

I managed a major logistics and deployment center supervising 12 marines, sailors, airmen and soldiers who monitored the movement of equipment and supplies. In this role, I corrected logistical issues and made recommendations to my commanders to expedite needed materials and military members.
